Hey, Are you ready to start taking the first steps to homeownership? As you probably already know, the market is HOT. Since the competition is tough, I have compiled a list of tips to make sure you secure the home of your dreams this year.
TIP #1
Get your finances in order first. Several months before you intend to start looking, you should get copies of your credit reports to make sure you’re in a financial position to buy. Shop for mortgage financing before you start looking at houses. A preapproval letter or proof of funds are needed before viewing homes. Sellers require them to place an offer, and it would be sad to miss out on the home of your dreams because you didn’t follow proper procedures. Some lenders are even doing the underwriting before the house is under contract, which shortens the closing time and can be more attractive to the seller.
